Title Block Library Help

Building reusable title blocks and attaching them to your drawings

Creating a Title Block

Click New Title Block on the Home tab and give it a name to open the Title Block Editor — a drawing canvas like the Symbol Editor, with two dedicated tools:

Use Save to update the title block, or Save As… to save it as a new, separate library entry instead.

Placeholder Tokens

A title block is built from placeholder tokens that get substituted with real values whenever it's displayed or printed. Some are filled in automatically from the drawing itself; others come from values you type into that drawing's Document Properties.

>DESCRIPTION_1Description 1Manual Document Properties
>DESCRIPTION_2Description 2Manual Document Properties
Three tokens — >SEE_SCHEMATIC, >SCH_REV, and >SEE_SCH_PN_REV — are nailboard-only. They auto-fill with the parent schematic's drawing number and/or revision, so a nailboard's title block can point back to the schematic it was built from.

Attaching a Title Block to a Drawing

The Title Block button in the toolbar (on both schematics and nailboards) opens a picker listing every title block in the library, plus a "none" option to remove the current one. Selecting one attaches it to the drawing and immediately substitutes its placeholder tokens with that drawing's own values. The picker also has an Edit shortcut that jumps straight into editing whichever title block is currently attached.

The Title Block Library

The Title Block Library card on the Home tab opens a list of every title block in your workspace, with Rename, Edit, and Delete actions per entry, plus its own New Title Block button. There's no separate "duplicate" action — use Save As… from inside the editor to create a copy under a new name instead.

Showing or Hiding a Title Block

A drawing's Document Properties has a Show Title Block checkbox, which toggles the title block's visibility on that specific schematic without detaching it — useful if you want to temporarily hide it without losing the library link or having to re-pick it later.
